COVID-19: What we’ve been doing

The coronavirus pandemic has swept across the world, disrupting businesses and livelihoods in almost every country. In the UK, the effects have been felt across just about every industry, leading to massive disruptions in supply chains.

At a very early stage in the UK lockdown, logistics was given ‘essential’ status. And that’s not surprising since many deliveries were assigned ‘critical’ status, responding to the needs of people and businesses. Many industries shut down completely or switched to reduced capacity. Here at GenRev, we carried on working throughout the pandemic. Our primary focus was on ensuring the limited numbers of available engineers were able to continue their work.

Regardless of world events there have still been boiler breakdowns and appliances in need of urgent repair. With engineers working at reduced capacity, due to illness and self-isolation, it was more important than ever that available technicians spent their time carrying out necessary repairs and maintenance tasks. With no time to spare for collecting parts from depots, our In Boot delivery had all necessary parts ready and waiting for them as soon as they started work.

We worked night and day to keep businesses going

Our drivers have worked tirelessly, repeatedly putting the needs of others before their own to ensure that workflows kept running smoothly. We also offered to provide any additional support or help that might be needed by the elderly, the vulnerable and key workers. Many of our drivers worked through the night to ensure that our In Night distribution service kept delivering vital supplies and equipment to customers throughout the UK.

Of course, we’ve made sure that all of our workers stayed as safe as possible, adhering to all government advice about hygiene and safety protocols. Social distancing measures were put in place at the outset, so that everyone working at GenRev could continue to perform their duties without compromising the safety and wellbeing of co-workers and clients.

We’re extremely proud of our workers and the way we’ve operated during this difficult time. Safety is now the number one concern for all types of deliveries, and we go above and beyond to shield our employees and customers from the effects of COVID-19.

We hope you and your families have stayed safe and well during this difficult time. As we begin to move out of lockdown, now’s a good time to consider how you can make your business supply chain more efficient. In Night distribution and In Boot deliveries are only part of the story. We also offer scheduled and multi-drop deliveries, as well as Just In Time distribution services.

You can arrange for parts and deliveries to be made before the start of the working day, saving you time and money as you won’t have to worry about collecting and returning parts. Your technicians can maximise their working hours without having to spend time chasing up missing items.
