Case Study: Helping Home Appliance Repairs – GenRev (UK) Ltd

At GenRev, we have a wealth of experience when it comes to helping home appliance repair companies achieve their targets. In this article, we’re going to take a closer look at one of our clients to see how our services have helped them to build on their excellent brand reputation. By helping this company increase their efficiencies, they have more productive engineers and, ultimately, happier customers.

About the Client

Our client is a major company specialising in the installation, repair and maintenance of home appliances. Based in the North of England, the company deals with both residential and commercial clients.

Parts Delivery and Collection

The bulky nature of some of the client’s parts meant that carriers didn’t want to handle them. And, those carriers who would, were only prepared to send the parts to their local depot. This meant that engineers had to physically go and collect them, which was costing the company time and money.

Challenges for Engineers

Engineers were losing at least two productive hours out of their working day collecting parts. A trip to the carrier’s depot before they were able to start work meant that engineers could not be fully utilised, which was compounded by being stuck in traffic jams. Returns weren’t always being dealt with appropriately, since the carriers often lacked enough room in their vehicles due to other customers’ freight.

In Boot Solution

Our In Boot delivery service has proved to be invaluable to the company. We collect all parts, irrespective of size, and deliver these directly to the engineers at their home addresses before they leave for work. We collect any returns and deliver these items back to the client within 24 hours of collection, which allows them to manage their stock more efficiently.

The Results

The company has been able to increase the work capacity of its engineers, achieving a more efficient output, simply because parts are available for them before they start work. This in turn means happier customers, and an improved brand reputation, with a significant reduction in downtime for service engineers.

Feedback from our client…

“Service has been well received by both engineers and staff since we rolled it out nationally. Our customers are also happier as we have very little cancellations due to parts not arriving as planned.”
